Gideon has been called, but he responds with questions, excuses, and bargains.
Gideon’s response comes down to three things:
He was afraid
He was anxious
He was reluctant
Why? The Midianites were ruthless, countless, and pestilent.
God addresses Gideons lack of trust and faith by making the odds of victory even tougher.
- First God cut the fearful.
- Second God cut the unaware.
- Only 300 men left.
- Armed with only trumpets, jars and torches against an army no one could count.
Gideon’s response to the dream and it’s interpretation was worshipping God.
God broke Gideon down and replaced his fear with confidence.
Main Point: God wants to replace your fear, anxiety, and reluctance with confidence and faith!
