Strange Stories from the Bible: The Witch of Endor – 1 Samuel 28

God had forbidden sorcery and witchcraft.  (Exodus 22:18 & Deut. 18:10-11)

Saul turned to a witch because:

• he was afraid.
• he had no faith.
• he had turned away from God.

Samuel’s appearance was not due to the medium, but to God.

Samuel told Saul that God had rejected him because:

1. He had not obeyed the Voice of the Lord
2. He had not executed God’s wrath on Amalek

Sometimes we don’t see God at work because we have not been faithful to Him.

Main Point:  When frustrated with God’s lack of involvement in your life, check your level of obedience and faithfulness before you give up on Him.
