Matthew 23:27-39; Isaiah 29:13-16
Last week: Our motives to lead and do ministry must be pure. (Washing the cup inside out).
The religious leaders created a superficial identity that was man-made; their character was counterfeit.
The religious leaders promoted chasing after their own cause rather than God’s will.
The religious leaders resisted anyone who came to speak a word from God.
Ask ourselves three questions:
What is my identity?
What is my character?
Who am I following?
- We need to accept our identity as a child of God. We are in Christ as He is in the Father.
- We need to model Christ, and employ practices that sustain a Christ like character.
- We need to learn our significance. Who we are matters more than what we do.
- We need to produce spiritual fruit that comes from transformation.
What Makes Jesus Happy? When we learn to abide in Christ and truly exhibit to others the fruit of a transformed life that only comes through a relationship with Jesus.
